Is The Grass

Over the years

I have often wondered

Have I made the right decisions

Truly I don’t know

During the past ten years

Like everyone else

The ride has had its ups and downs

During this time

I had to be both a mother and a father

Fortunately a wonderful woman

Told me

For your son to fly

It had to be

his time - his journey

Just remember each child

Will take wing

                                                         When it’s their time to fly

I am led

to the fence

I see that the grass is greener

On the other side

Will it be different this time

I remember well the path of life

It is to be walked together

Love both emotionally and physically

Must be given equally and freely

Remember

Trust and loyalty have no bounds or limits

For contentment  and warmth

will follow  you forever

I wonder

Will the bell toll again for me
